The turtle and Shakespeare, the grandmother and granddaughter, the mother and daughter, life and…
Elisa’s grandmother Eya firmly believes that death can be outsmarted. You just have to transform into someone else and continue living. Elisa loves her imaginative and slightly crazy grandmother, but lately Eya is changing faster and faster and becoming stranger day by day.
Elisa is very worried, but she has no one to talk to about it. Her mother and grandmother haven’t spoken to each other for a long time because they fell out over old conflicts. But Elisa understands: Without her mother’s support, Eya won’t realize her big dream and will never find the longed-for freedom.
The theater piece combines a magical fairy tale world with a real story and deals with themes of love, loss and the need for understanding – especially significant in the context of life and identity in a foreign country. It shows that despite all differences in language, culture and experiences, there is always hope. Even in the face of death, there is the possibility of understanding each other and passing on love – if we are willing to listen.
