Woyzeck, a simple soldier, toils as a servant for his captain. Despite his hard work and military duty, his wages are barely enough to support his beloved Marie and their child. In order to earn a little more, he subjects himself to medical experiments.
But the consequences of these trials weaken him even further, and he gradually loses himself in a world of dreams of a better life. Despite his efforts to remain a good man, Woyzeck is ultimately driven into the abyss by a society that blindly follows orders and equates “violence” with both “power” and “justice”
