Osip Mandelstam—one of the greatest poets of the Russian language, the quintessence of a poet’s fate in Russia. How can we speak of him, and what form and tone should we choose when discussing poems for which the poet paid with his life?
Roma Liberov is a cultural worker and former director and producer. Among his other works is the film Preserve My Speech Forever, based on the biography of Osip Mandelstam.
Roma will attempt to discuss the fate, era, and poetry of Osip Emilievich through ten poems.
The lecture will take place following a screening of the film “Preserve My Speech Forever.”
